Overview
Below you will find certain statistics on various topics including human poisonings, pesticide usage, pesticides in ground and drinking water, and statistics for law enforcement.
Keep these points in mind when searching for statistics:
- Statistics can be easily misunderstood. Review each resource carefully to understand when, why and how the data were collected. It may also be helpful to determine which data may have been omitted, and any other strengths or weaknesses in the data set.
- Some states keep track of their pesticide sale and usage each year. Check with your state pesticide regulatory agency to find out whether your state tracks this information.
- Just because pesticides are found in the groundwater in your area, it doesn't mean they are in your tap water. Check with your local water provider for a drinking water quality report or get your well water tested.
- NPIC publishes annual reports to summarize pesticide incidents and inquiries as they were reported by the public and professionals.
